VINEYARD STORIES
“Now we have worked here together for three years. From pruning to harvest it is a big job. You cannot farm alone on this mountain.”
Stanley began working in the Syrah vineyard in 2013. After more than 10 years, he knows this vineyard like the back of his hand.
All season he battles the steep, rocky terrain, the sun, the cold and the odd Cape Cobra in his mission to produce the best fruit possible.
He manages this 1.5ha
vineyard to a very high standard, producing the most remarkably
intense syrah grapes.
At harvest time we calculate the profitability of the vineyard
based on the quality and quantity of grapes produced. The profit is then transferred
to Stanley.

On the
front label of the Syrah 2020, Stanley recognises that he needs help to farm this challenging piece of land. He refers to his wife, Winfreda, who helped him for a number of years in this vineyard.
He is a true family man, and thanks to the first few seasons under this model, Stanley has been able to re-build and upgrade his family home.
